Dean Martin Conviction for Carrying a Concealed Weapon

In the course of researching a story about the Rat Pack members’ ties to the mafia we found this old ABC News clip about the 1982 conviction of Dean Martin for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. Martin apparently carried a .38 in a holster in his boot for years after “total strangers” would approach him at restaurants, acts which Martin felt threatened his life.

Makes us wonder who these “total strangers” were that made Dino felt the need to pack heat…
