Bryan Clay broke into a home on Robin Street in central Las Vegas on the morning of April 15, 2012. Once inside, Clay used a hammer to knock unconscious Arturo Martinez. Clay then proceeded to sexually assault Yadira Martinez and her 10-year-old daughter Karla before murdering both mother and daughter.

The crime scene was discovered by the Martinez family’s 9-year-old son once he returned home from school.

Clay was arrested about two weeks after the murders. He was also suspected in the sexual assault of a 50-year-old woman in the neighborhood. Clay claimed that he did not remember committing any of the crimes, and he attempted suicide shortly after his arrest.

Clay was convicted of both murders and sentenced to life in prison.
